Learn how to:
- Dye fabric, using natural mordants + other materials to prevent the colour from fading away quickly.Extract colours in simple dye baths and different ways to work with the dyes for desired results, including Indigo dye vats!
- Discover which colours are produced by various locally grown, wild-foraged, and exotic plants, insects and fungi.
- Learn various eco prints such as: flower-leaf prints, bundle dye, tie dye, clay resist prints + more.
- Learn how to start processing fibers from plants to create cordage and thread.
Plenty of demonstrations and samples will be shown to provide you with simple techniques and the confidence to get started on these fun, enchanting crafts.
In class, you’ll get to dye a garment from start to finish, plus create an eco print to take home.
